Witcher 3’s Upgrade Coming Soon

Witcher 3 hit the shelves back in 2015 and became an instant hit for fans of the Witcher series and newcomers alike. Players readily enjoyed the behavior and world of Geralt of Rivia as gamers stepped in his shoes. The visuals were pretty impressive for the time and took a severe toll on superior hardware for all the right reasons. Players got to enjoy hundreds of hours of gameplay with a rich story jam-packed with main storyline quests that added up to 51 hours. That wasn’t including the side quests as well which were also pretty interesting and didn’t feature any sort of repetitiveness whatsoever. We also got intertwining side quests, random encounters, and high-level enemies randomly placed in different territories, regions, and biomes which made the experience all the more fun. Witcher 3 featured was by far the most graphically impressive game of the time. 8 years later, it still looks pretty impressive and on par with most titles, but CD Projekt Red isn’t satisfied just yet as they announced a current-gen edition for Witcher 3 with all new visuals, textures, shaders, and obviously, Ray Tracing, DLSS, and FSR added into the mix. But there’s no official footage, showcases, information, or screenshots for that matter. Fans are yet to see any progress from CD Projekt Red in regards to the Complete Edition for Witcher 3. The game has been repeatedly delayed but not this time. You’d be forgiven to think it would be delayed again because CDPR has officially confirmed that the game will come to our gaming screens towards the end of 2022. It was in a new post on the CDPR site where the studio celebrated all of its recent accomplishments and of what’s to come in the future. In that very post, CDPR mentioned that Witcher 3 with its next-gen upgrade for the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X is expected to release sometime towards the final quarter of 2022. This comes as a huge relief to fans who have been eagerly waiting to play the updated version of the Wild Hunt ever since it was confirmed to be a thing. The upgrade was initially slated for some time in 2021 but alas, we never got to see it due to the pushback. The game was then set for early 2022 but again, fans were disappointed due to the next delay and now, we’ve been given a release window for the end of 2022. All of this is understandable considering the fact that CDPR had its hands busy working on the next DLC for Cyberpunk, being Phantom Liberty. The expansion for Night City was announced earlier this week and against all odds, with the plethora of updates, the game seems to be doing well just two years post-launch. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the game is still trending and continues to generate hype with the upcoming DLC. It’s been two years since the rocky launch of the game. CDPR has tried to redeem itself despite the biggest upsetting game launches in history which is indeed a big achievement on their part. Back to the Witcher Wild Hunt, CDPR also revealed that a fourth installment will be coming to the franchise. The game doesn’t have a name yet but it’s been revealed to feature a standalone story in an all-new saga. Although the Witcher 3’s Complete Edition will be available as a standalone game, the game will also feature upgrades for owners of the base tile for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One. There are some promising additions coming along the way as well with elements coming from the Netflix Witcher Series. We know for sure that the Witcher 3 upgrade will feature some impressive visuals added into the mix but what else is coming to the series? There have been rumors that some content from Netflix’s Witcher series might make it into the game but players will have to see it with their own eyes to believe it. For now, information is still pretty bleak in regards to the details for the Witcher 3 Complete Edition for current-gen consoles. Only time will tell what the game has in store for us. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently available for the Xbox One, PS4, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch and is set to feature an upcoming current-gen upgrade for the Windows PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X. So, are you excited about the upcoming Witcher 3 Complete Edition? Do you think it will have new content in store for us? Let us know in the comments below. We upload daily on Appuals so stay tuned for more. Till then, see you later and goodbye!
