In an interview with IGN, Platinum VP Hideki Kamiya stated that if he could, he would create an endless series with numerous sequels and spinoffs. However, when asked about a possible sequel to Bayonetta, he stated that the fourth and fifth games are in the works. And, despite the series’ economic success, Hideki feels that the games should be made in the way that the developers want them to be, with creative freedom, and without regard for what consumers expect from the title. When it comes to Bayonetta, it appears that the creators are really excited. Even last week, at The Game Awards, we got a surprise reveal of Bayonetta: Origins. This game concentrates on a young Bayonetta and serves as a prequel to all previous releases in the series. What’s fascinating is that the game managed to gather such a large fanbase despite the fact that it was only revealed for Switch, which is remarkable given the competition from consoles like Xbox and PlayStation. With statements like these from the developers and improvements visible in the game on a regular basis, we know that it is a franchise that people can rely on in the future. Bayonetta: Origins will be released for Nintendo Switch on March 17, 2023. Let us know what you think in the comments, and if you believe the game will be entertaining to play even after it has been running for a while, keeping in mind that we will almost certainly see the title until the fifth game.
