The most recent release by Obsidian Entertainment is Grounded, which got excellent reviews. Fans also loved the unique aspect of the game, where you are shrunk to the size of an ant and experience the world of insects in a backyard. The game was a day-one Xbox Game Pass release and was a massive hit, in a short period after its release; it reached 13 million players, as confirmed by Matt Booty.  The next game by Obsidian Entertainment is more of a passion project to experiment with the reception of the fans and critics and what impact a narrative-driven game would make. It is different from the usual action-packed 3D games by the studio.  Pentiment is a unique experience for the fans on its way from Obsidian. The protagonist Andreas Maler is a traveler and painter who arrives in the Bavarian town called Tasting in East Germany. The game’s story will begin with Andreas’s arrival in the town, where he will be tangled in a murder case and has to solve the murder mystery, which is the game’s primary goal.  But the game is not that simple, it is very well thought out to the last minute detail, and every step counts; your choices will heavily influence the story and the outcome. The story spans over 25 years in 16th Century Europe and two primary locations Tasting and Kiersau Abbey.  The storyline will also include religious and political conflicts that further make the game more intriguing and engaging. The other notable thing other than its unique premise is its eye-catching art style inspired by ancient medieval Europe, that period is clearly reflected in the visuals and art style of Pentiment. Obsidian Entertainment has also revealed the minimum system requirements for Pentiment.
