Performance

The RTX 4080 16GB scores 28,929 points in 3DMark Time Spy. Do bear in mind, this is a lighter workload as compared to the ‘Extreme’ preset. The 4080 is clocked at 3GHz which is easily achievable considering these chips surpassed 3GHz+ while testing in the labs. The GPU temperature remains at a relatively cool 60.8C whereas the hot spot is at 75.4C. All this performance is coming in at 295.7W of power. The RTX 4080 16GB’s TDP is rated at 320W, which can go as high as 516W (Max TGP). To put these numbers into perspective, have a look at the chart below. The RTX 4080 16GB is around 33% faster than the RTX 3090 Ti. That’s impressive, however, the pricing does hurt its image. The performance uplift is in-line with what we saw yesterday.

The RTX 4080 16GB

The RTX 4080 16GB is packed with 16GB of GDDR6X memory over a 256-bit bus where the effective bandwidth stands at a whopping 720GB/s. Such insane bandwidths can be achieved thanks to the 22.5Gb/s memory which is 20% faster than last-gen. The 4080 16GB is equipped with the state of the art AD103 GPU and 9,728 CUDA Cores for that extra compute performance. To top it off, it consumes just 320W of power.
