A Massive Drop In Revenue
Team green states that the actual issue is not with the leftover inventory, but with the pricing. Outside the US and China, the pricing can vary massively. The price-cuts offered to the US and China do not always make their way to other countries. Similarly, Pakistan has imposed heavy taxation on GPUs showing the difficulties NVIDIA has to face from region to region. Lovelace Inbound
A fellow writer covered the possible announcement of NVIDIA’s RTX 4000 series in an article. Indeed, Ampere was a massive success over Turing (RTX 20xx + GTX 16xx) with its increased performance and higher efficiency. But buckle up, because Lovelace offers much higher performance/watt metrics and raw horsepower than any GPU we have seen from NVIDIA. ~Jensen Huang
A 2023 Release Date?
While we do know that Lovelace is being announced next month. The real question remains, what about the launch date. Jensen stated, and I quote: A possible interpretation could be that NVIDIA may launch their RTX 4090 this year with the lower-mid end GPUs next year. However, that is still yet to be seen. The giant is targeting next month’s GTC event which is scheduled from the 19th to the 22nd of September to unveil their next-gen GPUs. Expect the RTX 4090 as soon as October 2022.
