It has long been speculated that Konami may look towards the remake of the original Metal Gear Solid trilogy, with people speculating that the third game, Snake Eater, will be released first because of its placement in the timeline before Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2. People have speculated that Virtuos Games will announce the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake at The Game Awards 2022 after a video purportedly made by the developer’s PR team went viral online, claiming to give the announcement date for the remake. A short time later, however, it was revealed that the video was fake, and it was taken down. Now fast-forward to the today, when a Reddit user stated that Virtuos Games’ official website now features Konami as a recent client.

Both Virtuos and Konami have remained silent on the matter, but prior speculation adds weight to the rumors. Previous corporate videos have shown a Metal Gear Solid art book and the developers have stated that they are developing a “unannounced AAA action-adventure game remake.” The reports that the game would be revealed at The Game Awards were debunked, but there is still enough evidence to keep the rumors going for the time being.
