Using the Groove app requires you to Sign-in using your Microsoft account. So, a lot of users are unable to sign-in into Groove and it displays a hex-decimal error code i.e. 0xc00d11cd (0x80004003). It happens quite often whenever users try to sign-in on their computer inside the built-in groove app.

Reason Behind the Error 0xc00d11cd (0x80004003):

The main culprit restricting you from signing-in to Groove music app might be your own network. Network caches are locally stored on a PC and sometimes, they cause troubles in the form of this error. On the other hand, there could also be an issue with the registry entries inside your Windows. Modifying the registry might solve your problem.

Solutions to Fix the Error 0xc00d11cd (0x80004003):

Based on the reasons, a number of solutions can be proposed in order to resolve this issue. I will mention only those that might do the trick. Follow the methods below.

Method # 1: Checking for Network

As I mentioned above, the main reason why you are unable to sign-in to Groove might be your own network connection. So, checking and tweaking some of the network settings might be a good solution. Make sure that you are on a fast network rather than a slower 2 Clear your Network caches by opening the Command Prompt (Admin). To open it, right-click over the start menu icon and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the list. Type the following line inside Command Prompt and press the Enter

  1. Go to your Internet Options by searching through the Cortana. Inside the Internet options, navigate to the Connections tab at the top and click over the LAN settings.

  2. Inside the LAN settings, if any option is checked, uncheck it and hit OK button at the bottom. Now, try signing-in again in Groove application.

Method # 2: Modifying Registry

If the above method doesn’t work, then you should try this advanced method in order to solve this problem.

  1. Open the Registry Editor by typing regedit inside the Run text field.

  2. Inside the editor, navigate to the directory mentioned below.

  3. Right-click over Audio, click on New and select DWORD (32-bit) Value. Rename this new value to DisableProtectedAudioDG.

  4. Double click on the newly created value located on the right pane and set its Value data to “0”. Try to sign-in again to the Groove.

If this doesn’t work, try to perform an SFC scan and a DISM scan because in some cases those have been reported to fix this particular issue.

Method # 3: Running Windows Troubleshooter

In some cases, the error might be due to incorrect configuration on Windows’ end. Therefore, in this step, we will be running the Windows Troubleshooter in an attempt to fix this issue. In order to do that, follow the steps below.
