Method 1: Mark partition as active

There are two ways how you can manage your hard disk and partitions, including Graphical Unit Interface (GUI) and CMD (Command Prompt). As you know, Graphical Unit Interface requires a keyboard and mouse, and Command Prompt requires only a keyboard. For this method, you will need to use command-line tool named DISKPART which will help you to set your partition as active. You will need to access Command Prompt through Windows Repair mode which was described in the previous method. After that, you will need to follow the next steps.

Method 2: Rebuild the Boot record

In the second method, you will need to rebuild the boot record. For this method, you will need a bootable DVD or USB, too. We will show you how to do it on Windows 10. The same procedure is compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. You will use the same bootable USB you created in previous methods. You will need to access Command Prompt through Windows Repair mode which was described in the previous method. After that, you will need to follow the next steps.
